1.Registration is required of all attendees of the GLOW-in-Asia Conference and its related activities. There are two components in the registration process: (a) Online pre-registration and (b) On-site registration. Both of these components are required.
-
•Pre-registration: all persons interested in attending the conference are advised to download the Pre-registration form (FORM B), fill it out, and send it by email attachment to the GLOW Organizing Committee at glowasia8@gmail.com to secure a space. In this form you will indicate your dates of arrival and departure, hotel requirements, and you can sign up for the 1-day excursion of Beijing and Vicinity on August 16. Please return this form to us ASAP to secure a space for yourself. We plan to provide some airport pick-up service and provide free transportation, book your hotel rooms if you need our help. You will not be asked to pay at this time, but your pre-registration is of utmost importance to help us with the preparation of your meeting package, and to ensure enough sitting spaces for everyone. Since space is limited, selection will be first-come, first-serve. If you return your pre-registration form by June 30, a space will be guaranteed. Final deadline for pre-registration is July 10, 2010.
-
•On-site registration: This component consists of your paying for the required fees and picking up your name-tag, and the registration package. On-site registration opens on 2:00 pm of August 11, at the Mengxi Hotel Lobby (not Xijiao Hotel, we have moved out of Xijiao hotel), to the evening as needed. We encourage you to pickup your package that day, to avoid the congestion on the second morning, with the opening ceremony and possible media presence.

2.Registration fees. The registration fee for attending the Conference is ¥500 (RMB, about US$70) per person (for all presenters, co-presenters and non-presenters), payable on site at the Mengxi Hotel Lobby on August 11. This will cover costs of your meeting materials, transportation where provided, and entitle you to 6 meals (3 lunches and 3 dinners). It does not cover the one-day excursion on 8/16, however.
As a participant in GLOW with full-registration status, you are also automatically invited and registered to participate in the ceremony where Professor Noam Chomsky will receive an honorary doctorate from Peking University and give another public talk, on the evening of August 13. -
3.Attendance in TEAL-6 and Zhu-Lu. The above registration fee is for the GLOW Conference only. You are encouraged to attend the other two events: The Workshop on Theoretical East Asian Linguistics (TEAL-6, August 15, with papers all presented in English) and the Zhu-Lu Symposium (August 17-18, with papers read in Chinese mostly). The full registration fee for TEAL-6 is ¥200 (about $30) entitles you to a full meeting packet and two full meals (buffet lunch and dinner) at the workshop venue. Please visit the respective web sites to register and for further information.
-
4.No-refund policy. Please note that these costs are heavily subsidized by the Conference, going well beyond what your paid registration fees actually can cover. If, during the conference, you elect to skip any (portion) of these events, or if any (portion) is cancelled due to unforeseen reasons beyond our control, there will be no refund of your registration fees.
-
5.For your information only: in addition to the full registration plan, the Conference offers a special subsidized reduced rate for residents of China who are graduate students or junior faculty, at ¥100 covering meeting materials and permission to stay in the university dormitories, but no meals. This option is not available to non-Chinese residents, and the registration deadline has passed.)
